1. GENERAL RULES

1.1 The competition is open to all citizens or permanent residents from the EU Member States and the Candidate Countries (Croatia, Iceland, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey) or Potential Candidates (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, as well as Kosovo*).

1.2 Persons employed by the European Commission, organisers involved in the competition, and writers or editors of the website, are not eligible to participate.

1.3 Each participant may only submit one entry to the ‘Album of Month’ competition every month.

1.4 A new monthly competition will be announced on the first day of each month. The deadline for entering each monthly competition is the last day of each month.

2. PERSONAL DATA

2.1  All participants must enter their name and a valid e-mail address where they can be contacted if they win the competition.

2.2  All personal information gathered during registration will be held by the European Commission's Directorate General for Enlargement, who will use the data solely for the purpose of the competition.

The European Union is committed to user privacy. The policy on "protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions" is based on Regulation (EC) N° 45/2001 [234 KB] of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000.

3. SELECTION OF WINNERS

3.1  Winners will be selected on the first Monday of each month following the month of the competition. Where more than one participant selects the correct answer, a computer programme will randomly select the winner.

3.2  Winners will then be contacted via e-mail and will have 21 days to provide a valid address in the European Union, the Candidate Countries or Potential Candidates,  to which the album can be sent.

3.3  If the initial winners do not provide a valid address in the European Union within the stipulated 21 day period, then a new winner will be randomly selected.
