1. WHO CAN ENTER AND BY WHEN?

 

The competition is open to all photographers, regardless of their age and experience, who are citizens or permanent residents from the EU Member States or the Southeast European Candidate Countries (Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey) or Potential Candidates (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, as well as Kosovo*).

The deadline to enter the competition is 20 January 2010.

2. WHAT PHOTOS CAN I SUBMIT?

 
  • You can submit up to three photos

  • The photos must portray the EU's Candidate Countries or Potential Candidates from Southeast Europe, i.e. the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, as well as Kosovo*) or Turkey.

  • The photo should capture your view on "Southeast Europe: People and Culture". Your picture could, for example, fit any of the following categories:

 Art

 Dance & Theatre

 Film

 Gastronomy

 Literature

 Music

 Sports


 
  • Pictures that have been uploaded cannot be changed.

  • Participants must be able to prove that the people pictured in their photos agree to being used for this purpose.

3. HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

 

You can participate by registering and uploading your photos online on this website. Alternatively, print off and fill in the registration form and send it, together with a CD of your photos, to the following address:

(Note: We unfortunately cannot refund post and delivery costs)

  • Group submissions are not allowed.

  • Persons employed by the European Commission, competition organisers or jury members are not eligible to participate.

  • All participants must agree to the subsequent royalty-free use of their photo material by the European Commission or by any organisation acting on its behalf.
